My Story

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and enjoyed every bit of the beauty it has to offer, even the rain most days… because it’s all about perspective. From a young age I knew there was something different about my family, the way we lived and viewed the world.  My adolescent relationships and environment sent me on a journey of self-seeking behavior that ultimately caused me to self-destruct. I engaged in a lot of risky behavior as a teen and began using substances that eventually led me to a very dark place. It was in that darkness that I reached out for help and had a profound experience where I discovered I had much more to offer the world.

My lifes experience propelled my in a direction of self-discovery, education and personal growth. My own awakening process gave me an increased awareness of myself and insight as to how to help others on this same journey.

I began my professional journey in substance abuse counseling in 2016 at an inpatient treatment facility where I completely fell in love with helping others find their path in recovery. Since then I have continued to work in many settings including private practice and different phases of outpatient. My passion is running groups and people who work with me report loving group therapy the most. I enjoy making recovery both fun and insightful. Together we can explore the reasons for use, how to avoid returning to old triggers and how to develop new paths to recovery.

In my spare time I like having fun with family and friends. I love to laugh and enjoy anything that involves art and creativity. An interesting fact about me is that I like to paint rocks and hide them in community parks to spread joy!
