I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Growing up , I watched close friends and family struggle with addiction and was greatly influenced by my mother who was a substance use counselor.
At an early age I knew that I wanted to help people and began my helping journey on a mission trip to Belize. I fell in love with the people.
After my return I began to contemplate my future more and made a decision that I would enter into Running Start with Highline College in my Junior year of High School at Tahoma and pursue my degree in Substance Use Counseling while working towards my High School Diploma. I was licensed by the age of 17 and began my substance use career with Career Counseling Institute in Tacoma with some of the most challenging teens in our population.
I graduated June 2020 with my High School Diploma and an AAS in Human Services from Highline College. And am now pursuing a BA in Criminal Justice with Evergreen State College.
I find that I am most passionate about working with teens and young adults and have a way of breaking through their resistance in ways others cannot. I have a non judgmental presence while being able to still help them find the motivation to want to change.
Fun Fact: I love fast cars and am a part of a local car club.
